Dear Community,

It is with profound sadness that we announce the closure of Health Equity Alliance (HEAL) effective April 1. For 37 years, we’ve had the privilege of serving you—offering HIV medical case management, LGBTQ+ services, vibrant Pride celebrations, and vital support for those experiencing homelessness. Our patients and staff have always been our heart and soul, and we’ve been driven by their strength and spirit every step of the way. Unfortunately, challenges have left us no choice but to close our doors.  

 

We owe an immense debt of gratitude to you—our community—for your unwavering support, trust, and generosity over the years. Your partnership has made our work possible. Equally, we cannot express enough appreciation for our exceptional and dedicated staff, whose tireless commitment brought our mission to life with compassion and excellence. As we wind down, we’re grateful that all our patients and much of our remaining staff will find a new home with our long-term partner and funder, Regional Medical Center of Lubec.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for allowing us to serve alongside you. It’s been an honor beyond words. Though our chapter ends, the needs remain—please carry this work forward with other local organizations.
